User Suggestions

A number of user-suggested features are under consideration for future versions of CDAT:
  • Math Function: This function under the toolbar panel would allow users to create a new variable using existing variables and a mathematical expression.
  • Overlay Enhancements: Vector overlays are currently limited to the Global Self-Consistent Hierarchical High-Resolution Shorelines data (GSHHS) for coastlines and lat/lon grid lines. It would be useful to support more vector overlays such as political boundaries, streams, bathymetry, and user-generated overlays for vector and bitmapped data.
  • Image Navigation: Some satellite passes can have inaccurate navigation, ie: the lat/lons reported are off by a number of pixels in both the x and y directions. CDAT needs a navigation tool to correct the image and save the corrections to the file.
  • Survey Enhancements: The survey tool could be enhanced by having an irregular polygon shape added to the survey types. The point survey might be more useful if it plotted something in the plot window (ie: something related to values around the survey point). Also, a user should be able to save survey plots and data values to a file.
