POES SST Product Geographic Information
POES-SST data is available in several formats and is mapped in Mercator, Equidistant Cylindrical or Polar Stereographic.
Spatial accuracy is within 1.5km for properly navigated data. CoastWatch Regional Nodes distribute 1 and 4 km datasets in full and sub-region panels.
The Ocean Product Server only distributes a subset of these datasets, namely the full region panels in the PNG format.
