Are you interested in using oceanographic satellite data in your work but don't know where to start? The NOAA CoastWatch program offers in-person and online courses, where participants learn about environmental satellite data and how to easily obtain it. Participants also gain hands-on experience working with the data that may help their projects and application. A major goal of the course is to provide scientists who are not regular users of satellite data with the knowledge and tools they need to incorporate satellite data into their research and management projects.

The PolarWatch and West Coast Nodes of NOAA CoastWatch will host and teach a satellite course the week of January 24, 2022. We are using an online format where scheduled course meetings require a time investment of about one hour per day, with the option for participants to drop into daily office hours for assistance. Instruction materials will be available online for participants to complete according to their own pace and schedule. Participants are encouraged to come to the course with a specific satellite-based project to work on.
