NOAA CoastWatch/OceanWatch is made up of Central Operations and Regional Nodes. The Regional Nodes are located strategically around the country and are housed within the NOAA line offices of National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), National Ocean Service (NOS), Oceanic and Atmospheric Research (OAR). They provide a link between the ocean satellite data and scientific expertise to benefit their local user communities. Together, Central Operations and the Regional Nodes provide for the distribution pathway for NOAA CoastWatch/OceanWatch satellite data products.

Global coverage for many products is available at Central Operations (see Satellite Data Products).
