Biography |
Christopher Brown, PhD, is a Research Scientist supporting CoastWatch Applications and Research as a GST consultant. Chris earned his MS and PhD in Oceanography from the University of Rhode Island, and a BS in Biological Sciences from Cornell. Dr. Brown held a postdoctoral fellowship at NASA Goddard through the National Research Council. Before joining CoastWatch, he served as the Chief of the Cooperative Research Programs Division (CoRP) of STAR. Dr. Brown’s areas of expertise include detection and prediction of marine organisms, documenting the temporal variability of phytoplankton biomass and productivity in the global ocean, and developing water quality applications. |
