This year's NOAA CoastWatch Annual Science Meeting will be hosted by OceanWatch Central Pacific Node (OWCP; housed in NMFS/PIFSC). The meeting will be held at the Imin Conference Center (part of the East-West Center) on the campus of the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi. The location of the annual meeting rotates regionally, and such a meeting occurs in the US Pacific Islands region approximately once every 12 years. This is an opportunity to emphasize some of the concerns that are unique to the Pacific Islands region and to highlight the potential for collaborative efforts with other scientific partners in the Pacific. The meeting will take place from May 22-25, 2023.

The tentative schedule for the four-day meeting is below:

Day 1 (May 22) Day 2 (May 23) Day 3 (May 24) Day 4 (May 25)
Updates from the CoastWatch Nodes OceanWatch Central Pacific and local collaborative efforts (e.g. PIFSC, CIMAR, PacIOOS, WPFMC) Future satellite sensors and data harmonization project
Visit to He'eia National Estuarine Research Reserve
International collaborations, coastal development issues, coral reefs

A detailed agenda and more information will be made available soon.

The meeting registration is open here. There is no registration fee. Federal employees who intend to travel should add their information to the federal travel list promptly. Although in-person participation is preferred, we do have the capacity to support remote participation.

We look forward to seeing you in May!
