Planned termination of NOAA NRT MODIS SST products

Due to a degraded performance of Aqua and Terra Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS), which both currently fly in unstable (not corrected) orbits, NOAA near real-time processing of MODIS sea surface temperature (SST) products will be sunset in approximately 15 days.  

MODIS SST products remain an important contribution to the NOAA SST Re-Analysis.  The NOAA Satellites STAR SST Team completed the  reprocessing of MODIS data with the Advanced Clear Sky Processor for Ocean (ACSPO).  These retrospective Level-3C products are available through NOAA CoastWatch -- see the MODIS product page for more information.
